Samyukta has always believed writing to be a powerful tool of expression. This has been displayed across her various careers over the past two decades be it as a banker, where she covered real-time market events to guide High Net Worth Individuals; as a research assistant where she enabled government research grants for a Hong Kong University; as a freelance writer, where she advised and edited thought leadership articles for corporates; and now as a college counsellor, where she enjoys helping college aspirants bring their stories to life through their essays.

The energetic, face to face interactions Samyukta has had with her diverse corporate clients have aided her in establishing an instant connect with young minds and planning customised pathways for them to attain their dream universities. Her ability to nose-dive into complex background studies—both during her banking and freelancing career—makes it natural for her to get to the depth of each and every student and draw insightful information from them.

Samyukta’s inherent childhood love for acting and drama makes her want to make each of her students “standout characters” on the global stage. As a university counsellor in an international school, she has derived contentment from positioning her students in unique ways and enabling her mentees to get into top international universities across various career interests—be it Engineering, Medicine, Law, Architecture, Life Sciences, Psychology, Arts, and much more. She holds a certification in College Counselling from UCLA.

At SetSail, Samyukta’s vision is to navigate the route for each student in the vast ocean of universities by helping them explore and identify their career aspirations, build their portfolio towards that, and steer them to the shores of their best-fit universities.
